He placed the rag gently upon her wounds, wanting to clean them before calling upon his powers to heal them quicker. Akari lay upon the couch, watching him intently. When they first got home, it was a nightmare. She was adamant about his wounds and his seal, but it was only minutes later that he convinced her to not worry about any of it. Alkirn healed himself first at the behest of Akari's insistence, which he readily opposed and lost as she threatened to bring up the matters of the seal again.
She reached her hand to his face, lightly stroking it. He smiled at her and she returned it honestly. Healing the last wound, her took her caressing hand in his. "Get some rest, my love," he soothed. She giggled in earnest, her cheeks and lips alight with a red hue. The sight sent his heart pounding nervously and eagerly. He squeezed her hand and rose to his feet, putting away the cloth and bowl of bloody water. He receded to the bedroom and, skittishly, closed the door with a soft thud. He leaned against the wall, trying to calm his heart. He nearly laughed; Alkirn, he thought, how has it come to this? You were once a creature of immense greed and destruction... and now you can't even find the courage to ask the one girl who's ever touched your heart.
He sighed. Of course, because I don't know how, he answered himself. He rubbed his face in his hands, gathering his thoughts. I need advice, he concluded but it was an absurd thought. Who in their right mind would give him, a bastard vampire who heartlessly abused his own family, advice? He had to try... Someone... Anyone!! He pulled out his cell phone, scrolling through the contacts commenting on each one as he passed them.
Oh, no, I broke his arm... I almost tried to kill this dude... THIS dude will kill ME... And for some ominous reason, he hovered over one contact he never thought he would ever in the sanity of the world call. Oh, fuck it. He dialed the number.
Raige glanced at his phone not recognizing the number it displayed. Should he answer it? He debated briefly but his curiosity got the best of him so he answered the phone.
ReplyDelete"Speak." The unknown caller did not answer at first. Raige was about to hang up when suddenly he heard, "Um. . . hi."
"who is this?" Raige demanded. He heard a slight pause on the other end, after a soft curse the voice answered. "Its Alkirn. . . " Raige drew the phone away and eyed it suspiciously. . . could he have the wrong number? He returned the phone to his ear, "Why did you call?" Suddenly a thought dawned on him. "What has happened to my niece? What did you do?" A small pang of anger arose within him as he thought of the possibilities the cold hearted vampire could have done to Akari.
And he still dares to call me. . .
Alkirn rolled his eyes. "Nothing, she's fine, really..." He trailed off, his confidence failing. Maybe he could just call this off; hang up now and forget this ever happened... Of course, doing that would only arouse suspicion and next thing would probably be Raige busting down the door. He had to keep talking.
ReplyDelete"Just..." He tapped his foot. Oh, come on! Say it already, princess!! Jeez!! "I need your help. I... want to propose to Akari." Dead silence. Alkirn's insides screamed, mentally beating himself up. Dammit, no! Remain calm... don't let Akari notice...
He. Wanted. To. Propose?
ReplyDelete"Why are you calling ME?" He was at a loss as to Alkirn's reasoning. Was he really the best for advice? Realizing that Alkirn probably had no one else to call, Raige reluctantly agreed to help him. He knew what it was like to be alone and he cursed himself for allowing to feel sympathy.
"All right. What do you have in plan?"
"If i knew I wouldn't be calling you." Alkirn hissed. Raige couldn't help smile, kid, you have much to learn. . .
"Fine. Figure it out yourself then." He let the silence expand before Alkirn growled. "Ok! Fuck... just. . . I need help... alright?"
"I understand you need help. Question is will you accept it?" There was a slight pause as Alkirn took in a deep breath, "Yes. . . I will."
"Very well, no let me ask once more. What have you planned?"
There was the longest pause. . . This kid honestly has no idea.
"All right," Raige spoke, "Do you have a single molecule of a romantic cell in your body?"
Alkirn laughed nervously. Good, he's at least loosening up.
"Now. . . have you at least picked a ring?"
Alkirn cursed softly. . . "No."
Raige rolled his eyes. . . this is going to take a long time.
"Do you have time to go out and get one?" Raige's voice asked. "When were you planning to do this?"
ReplyDelete"Oh... today," Alkirn replied, his free hand waving aimlessly in the air. He almost had a heart attack as he said it. Being this unprepared... could he risk it?
He heard Raige sigh on the other end of the line. "It was a last minute decision," Alkirn admitted.
"Alright, well... Once you DO have the ring, I would not recommend hiding it within anything edible. Not the wisest decision, I assure you."
"I think I'll just stick with kneeling, really..."
"Have you made arrangements for a banquet dinner?" Raige asked.
Oh dear God, just shoot me now.
Did he honestly believe it to merely be a normal experience?
ReplyDelete"Call me when you are actually serious about this." Just as he was about to hang up Alkirn's voice sounded, "I am serious! I love Akari. . . damn it. . . Just forget it. I will do it myself."
Good, now Raige knew he was truly commited to her. "Wait. I will help but you have got to put some effort into this. I am not the one proposing, you are. It is all in the details. I forged Alice's engagement ring myself. Make yours special. Is there some special stone she likes? You may even include some aspect of her in the ri-"
"I will make it emerald."
Raige smiled, "And why is that?"
There was a short pause before Alkirn answered, "It the color of her eyes."
"Now you are using what little mind you have."
Alkirn growled on the other side, Raige merely laughed. He had never enjoyed himself so much as today.
"Stop laughing. . .its not funny." Alkirn warned. Raige ignored him but continued, "So, is there a particular place she enjoys?"
"The movie theater?"
Raige sighed deeply. "You want to propose to her in a movie theater?"
". . . No. . . would that be bad?"
Raige did not even dignify that question with an answer.
Seriously? I might as well not have a fucking brain. Ugh.
ReplyDelete"Okay, okay, umm..." His mind raced, hoping an answer would come to him before Raige decided to leave altogether. "... The mall." He almost anticipated a groan in response, but there was nothing as Raige's silence egged him to carry on. "She loves the mall... there's restaurants... "banquet dinners"... I could get the ring there as well."
"You're going to shop for the ring in her presence?"
"No. No, no, while she's occupied with other stuff, I guess..."
Raige contemplated. Dammit, Akari, I must really love you, thought Alkirn. He grinned and rubbed his eyes, never having thought a day like this would come. Yes, there's actually a woman who loves you... and for whatever reason, you love her back. Truly, fate could not have been more cruel.
"You intend to take her to a human mall. . . to propose to her. . . in their food court?" It wasn't a bad idea. . . it was. . . just odd. He had never before heard of a male proposing to his female in such a manner. His kind was always. . . more discrete. Preferring, privacy over an audience. It made the overall experience more memorable.
ReplyDelete"Well fuck, when you put it that way Raige... What do you suggest hmm? Last time I checked your proposal wasn't exactly 'romantic'"
Raige grinned, "I had already proven myself to Alice. I forged her ring using only the purest and most exotic stones. I proposed to her under the moonlight. True, it might not have been the most romantic of all, but it still meant SOMETHING."
Alkirn was quiet on the other side. Raige drew a heavy breath. Alright Raige, at least he is trying.
He was running out of ideas. Of course, everything he had suggested meant something to Akari... none of which, according to Raige, were fancy or proper enough to pop the question. Akari's favorite places aren't... exquisite, in the slightest, he thought. Maybe that means she won't be one for too much glamor anyway? Keep it simple...
ReplyDelete"I'll cook her something." The words spilled out like an overturned barrel. He had no idea what he would cook, not to mention the fact that the only gourmet chef in his family was Vyra. But really, how hard is it to cook anyhow? "And then... after dinner... I'll ask her."
"Do you know how to cook?" Raige asked suspiciously.
ReplyDeleteHe heard a small intake of breath on Alkirn's part. "How. . . hard can it be?"
"Wel... you could kill her."
Alkirn was quiet for the longest time. "Well.. fuck Raige. . ."
"If you are going to attempt to cook for Akari you should know wolves are. . . picky when it comes to the quality of the food. We are used to it being freshly killed. Though, many of us now prefer our meat cooked there are a select handful that prefer to eat it in the way of our ancestors. . . Akari being one of them."Raige laughed as he heard Alkirn sharp gasp. He was extremely amused.
"... Dammit, it's... it's the best bet I've got right about now." Alkirn ran his hand through his almost shoulder length hair. He snickered; he'd definitely have to clean up for this.
ReplyDelete"Women are strange," he said, more to himself than to Raige. "They have the capacity to tame the cruelest of creatures... with just the bat of an eyelash." Alkirn laughed airily, remembering his first encounter with Akari. How livid he was to find her enamored with him, how he loathed that she was a werewolf nonetheless... His words were true for every time Akari's emerald eyes called him, he answered without fail. And Alkirn found himself listing and imagining the things about Akari that also called to him: her lips, her hair, her legs, her very core... Ah, it has such a sweet taste, too.
He jumped out of his skin as he felt a knock on the door which he leaned upon. "Alkirn?" chimed Akari's beautiful voice. "Thinking about me fondly, are you?" He cursed silently, having gotten carried away with his thoughts of Akari. She giggled on the other side.
Akari giggled aas she felt Alkirn's lust and. . . nerves? Why would you ever be nervous my love?
ReplyDeleteShe felt him attempt to hide something from her. Hm. . .
"Well my sweet little vampire, will you let me in or are you going to continue torturing me by not allowing me to fulfill your needs." She smiled as she heard Alkirn groan.
"Raige what do i do?" She heard him hiss quietly. . . Raige? Her uncle? What are you doing talking with him Alkirn? He didn't answer her. How. . odd. . .
"What's happened?" asked Raige.
ReplyDelete"She's here," was all he said. He saw the door handle jiggle furiously.
"Alkirn? Have you locked me out?" Her tone grew worried. "What's going on?"
"It's nothing, really." He raised the phone back up to his ear, only to receive a disconnected signal from the earpiece. He froze. Oh fuck, Raige!!! Dammit!! That wolf hybrid picked one hell of a time to ditch.
His sudden panic didn't go unnoticed. "Alkirn! Love, what's wrong? Please, let me in!" He closed his eyes and lightly rocked the back of his head against the door. Why were things never easy?
"Alkirn?!" Damn it open the door this instant Alkirn!
ReplyDeleteNo.
She froze. Her eyes narrowed against the door, "Why not?"
Alkirn didn't answer. What was going on? Why did she feel a great mixture of nerves, anxiety and lust from him?
"Open. The.Door. Alkirn." Yet his only response was a mental, No.
The heck was going on?!
He was asking himself that very same question. He couldn't stall Akari forever, and he couldn't figure out how to pull himself together. Jesus, think! Just calm down and get your mother fucking act-
ReplyDeleteThose two words sparked a flash of memories, ones he tried pushing aside had not it also lowered his guard on the pain from his seal. He groaned slightly and he slumped to the floor. Oh, this was just fucking FANTASTIC.
"Alkirn?!" She was getting desperate. "Dammit, open the fucking door!!"
No! he repeated as he felt Akari try to kick down the door, his back banging against the door with every kick. Stop it, Akari!
Had the situation been different, he would've scoffed at her words. To hell with happiness, he would've said, and he would've dealt with the pain with his head held high. The latter part was still true to this day, but his life was not his own anymore: he had resigned his entire being to Akari and his commitment to her would only be more apparent after today.
ReplyDeleteThe waves of pain crashed onto him, but he nonetheless willed himself to stand once more. With a heavy sigh, he unlocked the door handle. Being a stubborn ass wasn't going to help... and he hated to admit that.
Akari burst through the door once she realized he unlocked it, making him stumble against the wall to avoid being hit. She locked eyes with him and froze. He could feel the anger within her toil and he knew he was screwed. He tried to laugh through the agony and make the situation light.
"Look, Akari-" And she slapped him. He didn't move as he froze with shock. Pulling himself together, a dormant instinct ordered him to strike back but it was easily overpowered. This isn't a fight... I'm not an animal anymore. His head turned back to her and he could see the tears she tried oh so hard to fight back pour from her eyes. He opened his mouth to comfort her, but at that instant she threw her arms around his neck. After a few moments, he sighed. Akari never ceased to bewilder him. He wrapped his arms around her slender form, holding her close to him.
She buried her face in Alkirn's neck. She didn't want to see him in pain anymore, she didn't want him to suffer.
ReplyDelete"Alkirn, please . . . D-don't do this anymore." She sobbed quietly against him. She was frustrated with herself. Her weakness had caused her beloved Alkirn to pain, a pain that she did not know how to fight back.
"I. . . there is nothing I can do Akari." She knew he meant he wouldn't transfer the seal back to her.
Damn it Alkirn. . .
He gasped as he lost his strength, he nearly fell onto the floor had it not been for Akari. With a sigh she took him to his bed, carefully laying him down. SHe sat on the edge of the bed, watching as Alkirn battled the seal. Her heart wrenched at every wave of pain she felt from him. Tears streamed down her face as she felt helpless against it.
"Its. . . o..ok Akari. It will. . . pass. . . Don't. . Don't cry." Her hand reached up to caress his face, I know Alkirn, it will pass. . . for now.
A sudden burning hatred took her over. Nahia. . . her wolf hissed. oh. .. the bitch would pay, dearly. A low growl escaped her as her wolf demanded they go hunt her down, and for once she did not fight it.
"Akari. . n.. no!" Alkirn gasped as he struggled to sit up. Akari placed a careful hand on him, drawing him back down onto the bed.
"Shh, my little vampire. I will not be long." No! She heard his mind scream but she ignored him. Akari! Damn it, no!
Alkirn, I will- she gasped as his hand caught hers drawing her to him. His eyes betrayed his sudden anger at her. I said no. Akari raised a curious eyebrow at him.
Oh? And how do you plan to stop me?! You cannot even stand! She pulled away from his gasp, pushing down the pain she felt by talking to him that way. I love you Alkirn. . . I woud do anything for you.
I know. She strode for the door and he pushed aside the pain, calling upon the speed of the vampire to beat her there. She stopped mid-stride as his body slammed against the door, blocking her from leaving. Bewildered and shocked, Akari was simply beside herself with anger.
ReplyDelete"Alkirn, what are you doing?" Her focus shifted to keeping him upright, but he slumped against the door for support. She tried pulling him away but he was indignant. "Move, Alkirn. Please."
No. Akari sighed in exasperation.
"This again?!" she cried. "Tell me what it is your hiding then if you refuse to let me leave!"
I can't.
"Why not?!"
I just can't!
"Then move!"
No!!
"Dammit, Alkirn!! Why?!"
"I can't lose you, Akari!"
She blinked, not expecting an answer and certainly not one like this. He knew she could feel his fear, the endless possibilities that could happen to her if she got close to Nahia... Akari reached up to his face, her touch tender and caring.
"I promise you, Alkirn... For you, I won't let anything happen to me." He was comforted only slightly, but he needed more to make her stay. Akari sensed that. I have to tell her... Dammit. And he had it all mapped out, too.
"Tell me what, Alkirn?" she asked, searching between his eyes for a sign of what was to come. "What did you have mapped out?"
He sighed, though it did not help his pounding heart. It wasn't going to be as... romantic as he had hoped for. But he saw no other way. He took hold of both her hands and guided her to the middle of the room. His anxiety affected Akari and it was all she could do to keep her breath steady. She looked absolutely fearful. He smiled in earnest; It's alright, he told her, nothing to worry about. And the truth behind those words lessened the confusion toiling within her. He took a deep breath.
"Akari Akuma," he began, his gaze never leaving Akari's as he slowly knelt to one knee. He pushed through the pain, her anticipated reaction, and his nerves as he continued.
"... Will you marry me?"
"Alkirn!" She gasped. A mixture of joy and shock rocked through her. Her eyes met with Alkirn, and she could feel his anticipation.
ReplyDelete"Yes. .. God, yes!" She threw her arms around him as her lips captured his. They tumbled to the ground as Alkirn lost his strength, but she didn't care. They were going to get married... married! She couldn't wrap her mind around it, but she could hear Alkirn laugh in utter joy within his mind.
I love you Akari. . .
I love you too Alkirn! She drew away from him, suddenly aware of his growing pain. "Oh, I'm sorry love." She sat up, tears of joy streaming down her face. "Come on my little vampire, lets get you to bed." She helped him back up, placing him once again, carefully on back on the bed.
"You play dirty my love," she said as she caressed his face. He merely smiled, leaning his head to her touch.
With a sigh she crawled into bed with him, resting her head on his shoulder. Every imaginable possibility crossed her mind. The wedding will be big. . . no. . . small. . . she didn't care, all she wanted was to be with Alkirn forever. To be his and only his. For him to be hers, and only hers.
He leaned his head on Akari's, the sweet scent of her hair calling to him. He closed his eyes as he rested with Akari, the pain subsiding with each passing moment. He stroked Akari's back and held her tightly. His wonderful, beautiful Akari belonged to him... It was the most fulfilling feeling of all. And his life would forever belong to her... and for once in his life, it did not bother him to realize that.
ReplyDelete"Tell me, my love," cooed Akari, her hand lying upon his chest. "Was this what you're talking on the phone with Raige? Your proposal?"
He smirked and she knew it to be true.
"What did you have in mind, if I may ask?"
"The movie theater, the mall... cooking you a dinner." He paused for a moment, still slightly disappointed that he had not achieved either of those things. "We can still do something like that if you want."
Akari chuckled, rubbing his chest. "Oh, I think I can think of a way you can make it up to me." She reached up to kiss him and Alkirn felt the pulsating lust coursing through her veins.
His lustful growl brought a smile to Akari's face. She giggled as he rolled on top of her. His lust coursed through her as it mingled with her own growing desire. Their lips met, their tongues stroking one another. This was going to be her life from now on, every waking moment filled with her Alkirn. She smiled as she felt him rub against her, Oh. . . this is going to be fun.
ReplyDeleteAlkirn purred in response.
They escalated quicker than before, their clothes already lying upon the floor and their passion hidden underneath the sheets. The amplified ecstasy still surprised them, but they welcomed every savory moment of it. Loud, euphoric cries tainted the air as Alkirn dug himself deeply into Akari and he thrust harder and harder after every orgasm, one more intense than the last. Within minutes their bodies were coated with sweat and their breaths labored. Alkirn clenched Akari's body close to him, his newfound possession of his betrothed overwhelming him. Through the chimes of their screams, gasps, and sighs, they exchanged mental exclamations of their undying love for one another.
ReplyDeleteGod... I love you, Akari.
I love you too, my Alkirn.
Yet as Alkirn threw his head back, finding once more that sweet release, he heard with a faint heart the one voice he wanted to hear the least.
"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM AKARI!!!" Shit.
Her father's voice rang through the room. Akari attempted to come back to her, her body still reacting to Alkirn.
ReplyDeleteHe rolled of of her and she sat up, bringing the sheets up to cover her.
"Dad. . what. . are you .. doing here?"
Sasuke only stared at her, his eyes reflecting great anger and hatred.
Alkrin. . . i want you to leave when I give you the signal, she told him.
No, Akari, I am staying, I am not leaving you here with-
He's my father Alkirn, the only one in danger here is you.
"What.The.Fuck.Are.You.Thinking Akari!?" Her father's voice rang out, making Akari jump. She took a deep breath, "Dad, he's my . . .mate. We are going to get married, please, don't. . . don't make this hard." But her father's darkness began to take him, she knew all too well what that meant.
Alkirn run! She warned as she jumped of the bed, calling upon her chaos she tackeld her father to the ground. She heard a dark snarl rip from his throat as he began to shift. A yelp escaped her lips as she was thrown off slamming hard against the ground. Immediately she shifted and stood protectively between Alkirn and her father.
Alkirn! Run!
No! I am not leaving you here!
Damn it Alkirn, if I don't make sure you're safe how can i-
The dark wolf slammed into Akari. Snarls ripped through the air as the two wolves engaged in combat.
Akari!
Damn it Alkirn! I need you to leave, now! I can handle my father Alkirn, you are going ot have to get used to this fighting because this is how we settle things. But I can't concentrate if- Sasuke's jaws found Akari's scruff, in one solid movement he picked her up and slammed her against the wall. The force of impact burst through the concrete and the wolves tumbled out.
Akari! She heard Alkirn send a mental scream. She felt desperation and fear from him.
They hit the ground below with enough force to shatter bones. Within the instant Sasuke was up, slowly circling Akari.
Alkirn, stay. . there. Don't worry. I am fine. Just don't more understood? But she had a scarce feeling that he wouldn't.
"You know, I may not be on good terms with my daughter." The monstrous form of the Dark Prince was tossed aside by a blitz of a darkened form and Sasuke crashed through several nearby trees at the force of which he was thrown. The wolf immediately pounced to it's feet, growling the most menacing sound it could muster. Though small in size compared to Sasuke and Akari, Alkirn crouched protectively in front of his mate as a low hiss passed his lips. "But at least I never raised my fangs against her," he finished, a half smile forming coyly. The dark wolf roared at his words and within a flash, he had disappeared.
ReplyDeleteAlkirn! He needed not Akari's warning to know what was coming. Sasuke appearing suddenly from the right, Alkirn drew back and flipped below the form of the wolf as he kicked it's abdomen, sending it flying once more. Sasuke rose to his feet and disappeared again. Ignoring Akari's warnings and pleas to leave, the fight continued in a manner that Alkirn could feel confused her. The realization slowly dawned on her as Alkirn evaded her father's onslaught of attacks for the eighth time: Alkirn wasn't fighting back, but merely using Sasuke's anger and darkness against him. And sensing how easily this came for Alkirn to perform, Akari suddenly understood the same must have been done upon him once. So easily, in fact, that even Akari's sexual attention to Alkirn's movements did not hinder his concentration, however amused he may have been.
Akari, I know you're... preoccupied. He heard Akari giggle as he thought this... But get ready to make a run for it on my signal.
I'm not leaving you-
I'm coming with you, don't worry. And he meant it.
Akari watched, waiting for his signal to run but oh, how it was hard to concentrate. She could see Alkirn's muscles flex with each movement. The way he flowed through the attacks had Akari's purring in response.
ReplyDeleteAkari. . . Alkirn warned softly. She giggled, I know, I know.
Shifting back to her human she readied herself to run. Alkirn moved swiftly and with one move he cast her father down. Now!
During the moment of Sauske's disorientation they dashed into the woods, both moving and weaving through it with great ease. Behind them loud crashes were heard as Sasuke pummeled through the trees, quickly gaining momentum.
Without even verbalizing it they moved in unison, Akari quickly shifting into her wolf and Alkirn jumping onto her. With a huff she quickly gained speed. Moving quicker and quicker until the trees around them became a blur.
Where to Alkirn?
I was hoping you would know Akari.
She laughed as she felt the adrenaline rush through her viens. Beside the severity of the situation, Akari felt alive, she felt as if this was their first true adventure together, and she loved every moment of it!
