He couldn't believe what was going on. Nothing could compare to the shock and disgust he felt. This girl, this wolf, enamored with him? Impossible; and if it was so, he was sure he was getting the hell he knew he deserved. Despite this, he never would have imagined hell to put him through this. He would rather die than have his honor degraded by such a despicable creature as the werewolf. Every fiber in his being wished for her to leave at once; otherwise he was certain he would tear her up on the spot. But why not? He was a merciless bastard vampire who killed countless, tortured many, and committed several taboos. Kill the girl, that'll solve my problem.

Staring coldly into her eyes, contemplating on the best tactical advantage to striking her down quickly and quietly, his preoccupation with her death left him unaware as the wolf girl reached towards and caressed his cheek. Lightly and lovingly was the touch; he would not have noticed it at first had her eyes not moved away from his own. The gesture seemed to paralyze him; his heart pounded with the hatred and audacity that the Akuma child should dare treat him this way but his mind was empty and blank. Then he realized his heart beat not with ire, but with the faint hope and cries of a forgotten child desperately looking for the slightest trace of love and compassion thrown his way. He pushed the thought out of his mind attempting to regain the burning hatred for the wolf; again, he was unprepared for what came about next. Slowly, gracefully, Akari Akuma leaned into his lips and held them in her own cautiously as if expecting him to break away at once. Now it was his mind demanding him to pull away and destroy the girl who enacted this disgusting gesture, all the while having released the feeling of want that was alit within his heart. Inside the depths of his being was the war between his pride and his inner most desires declared; but most of all he was amazed and shocked. Someone, anyone, had the capacity to love even him. This creature of black silk hair, shining emerald eyes, and young, slender body embracing him… And suddenly the war was won. His mind brought to attention the condition of her ignorance, her status; that she knew nothing, was nothing, and would be nothing should she know. With this resolve he shoved her aside and, as if hoping to erase the existence and feelings of it, wiped his mouth clean of the kiss. Still within a state of internal confusion and shock, he acted upon his instinct without reserve.

"Don't ever do that again, you filthy wolf!" There was no trying to put a hold on the opened floodgates. Suddenly every thought and insult he could muster escaped his lips in the form of unconditional scolding; pacing in circles, each step brought forth inspiration for another condescending thing he had yet to name. All the while Akari remained silent and observant and her lack of response especially enraged him. At some point, she finally found the courage to smile. The fire was then filled with more fuel.

"Do I amuse you, mutt?!" he exhaled, his breath hot and quick with the anger seeping through him.

Undeterred by the strong emotions of hatred he was emitting, Akari valiantly asked, "Are you always like this or is it only with me?"

At once, he was grounded back to the root of his former self. His anger, his desire to kill her, his hatred towards her for being a wolf… why did he care at all? Any thought or feeling to explain this was easily dismissed and he returned quickly to his calm demeanor. Filth like her did not deserve a reason or explanation for anything he did; her existence and advances mattered not. She was an insignificant flea bitten piece of trash that could be effortlessly ignored. His head and heart calm and empty, he turned and left the wolf girl standing there alone as he washed his hands clean of this entire mess. The small flickers of feelings that had been aroused within him during her advances sparked and blinded him. He wrote them off as a sign of his desperate, eighteen year sex deprivation and walked onward.
